How it works

Background replacement has two steps: estimate an alpha matte for the foreground, then render a second image behind that matte. BackgroundBlur performs both operations locally in your browser.
A convincing replacement usually needs similar lighting and perspective between the subject and the new scene. Slight background softness can hide resolution differences and help the foreground remain the visual focus.
